Living Room Rugs

A well-sized rug brings comfort and balance to any living room, helping every piece of furniture feel connected.

Small Living Room

Recommended: 4' 11" × 7' 10" (150 × 240 cm)

Anchor a compact seating area with a proportionate rug.
Let the front legs of sofas and chairs rest on the rug.
Leave some floor visible to create a feeling of space.
Lighter colours and simple patterns help open up the room.

Medium Living Room

Balanced seating layout

Place all front furniture legs on the rug to unify the space.
Leave around 1' 2"–1' 8" (35–50 cm) of floor visible around the edge.
Works well under a full sofa and two accent chairs.
Choose texture or pattern that complements—not overwhelms—your furniture.

Large Living Room

Full furniture coverage

All major pieces, including sofas and chairs, can sit fully on the rug.
Ideal for open-concept layouts and large rectangular rooms.
Creates a unified, clearly defined seating area.
Bold textures and patterns add depth to expansive floors.

Bedroom rug runners at the sides of a bed

Bedside Runners

Works especially well with platform and low-profile beds.
A practical way to add softness without covering the whole floor.

Rectangular Layout

Perfect for full or queen beds

Place the rug approximately two-thirds under the bed.
Leave generous rug exposure at both sides and the foot of the bed.
Creates a balanced, layered look.
Best suited to medium-sized bedrooms.

Round Rug

4' 11" or 6' 7" diameter (150 or 200 cm)

Place partly under the bed or beneath a small round table.
Creates a cosy, balanced feeling in compact or square bedrooms.
Softens strong lines and adds visual movement.
Also ideal for accenting a reading nook or corner.

Large round rug

Provides 2' 6"–2' 11" (75–90 cm) of clearance around the table.

Rug Details

Drown your senses in the moody depth and haunting beauty of the Sanguine Shadow Erased Washable Rug. This piece represents the pinnacle of the "ghost" aesthetic, featuring a traditional floral field that appears to have been weathered by centuries of moonlight. The palette is a profound exploration of monochromatic intensity, layering deep burgundy and wine red with subtle, smoky shadows of charcoal and mauve. With its extreme stone-wash distressing and heavy horizontal striations, this rug feels less like a floor covering and more like a reclaimed relic from a forgotten era. It is a peerless choice for a dramatic executive study, a moody maximalist lounge, or a bedroom that demands a bold, atmospheric anchor with a touch of historical mystery.

Masterfully engineered to marry this intense, "erased" aesthetic with the rigorous demands of modern household life, the Sanguine Shadow is woven from premium, high-density polyester fibers. This construction delivers a velvety, cloud-like touch underfoot while offering superior resilience against daily foot traffic. Our advanced color-lock technology ensures that the deep wine tones and subtle gray shadows remain beautifully saturated, wash after wash. For ultimate peace of mind, it features a high-grade, integrated slip-resistant backing that grips firmly to your hardwood or tile floors, ensuring the rug remains perfectly flat and secure without the need for additional pads. Fully machine washable and optimized for robot vacuum compatibility, this rug brings the timeless allure of a weathered, soul-stirring masterpiece into your home with zero maintenance stress.

Rug Care Guide

🎨 Rug Designer's Note

When designing the Sanguine Shadow, I was captivated by the haunting beauty of fading memories and centuries of moonlight cast upon ancient floors. I wanted to capture the "ghost" aesthetic, where a traditional floral field feels weathered into a reclaimed relic. To achieve this, I layered profound deep burgundy and wine red with smoky charcoal and mauve shadows, utilizing extreme stone-wash distressing and heavy horizontal striations. Yet, this piece is made for modern life. Crafted from high-density polyester, it offers a cloud-like touch, advanced color-lock, and a secure slip-resistant backing—all while remaining fully machine washable.
