Room Guide

Living Room Rugs

A well-sized rug brings comfort and balance to any living room, helping every piece of furniture feel connected.

Small Living Room

Recommended: 4' 11" × 7' 10" (150 × 240 cm)

Anchor a compact seating area with a proportionate rug.
Let the front legs of sofas and chairs rest on the rug.
Leave some floor visible to create a feeling of space.
Lighter colours and simple patterns help open up the room.

Medium Living Room

Balanced seating layout

Place all front furniture legs on the rug to unify the space.
Leave around 1' 2"–1' 8" (35–50 cm) of floor visible around the edge.
Works well under a full sofa and two accent chairs.
Choose texture or pattern that complements—not overwhelms—your furniture.

Large Living Room

Full furniture coverage

All major pieces, including sofas and chairs, can sit fully on the rug.
Ideal for open-concept layouts and large rectangular rooms.
Creates a unified, clearly defined seating area.
Bold textures and patterns add depth to expansive floors.

Room Guide

Bedroom Rugs

The right bedroom rug adds softness underfoot, warmth to the room, and a beautiful frame around your bed.

Bedroom rug runners at the sides of a bed

Bedside Runners

2' 6" × 4' 11" or 2' 6" × 9' 10" (75 × 150 or 75 × 300 cm)

Ideal for minimalist bedrooms and smaller spaces.
Keeps your feet warm as you get in and out of bed.
Works especially well with platform and low-profile beds.
A practical way to add softness without covering the whole floor.

Rectangular Layout

Perfect for full or queen beds

Place the rug approximately two-thirds under the bed.
Leave generous rug exposure at both sides and the foot of the bed.
Creates a balanced, layered look.
Best suited to medium-sized bedrooms.

Round Rug

4' 11" or 6' 7" diameter (150 or 200 cm)

Place partly under the bed or beneath a small round table.
Creates a cosy, balanced feeling in compact or square bedrooms.
Softens strong lines and adds visual movement.
Also ideal for accenting a reading nook or corner.

Room Guide

Dining Room Rugs

A well-sized dining rug defines the space while keeping every chair steady and comfortable—even when pulled out.

4-Seater Round Table

Small round rug

Ensure at least 2' 6" (75 cm) of rug extends beyond the table edge.
Prevents chair legs from catching on the edge of the rug.
Choose flatweave or low-pile rugs for easier chair movement.
Perfect for breakfast nooks and small dining areas.

4–6 Seater Round Table

Large round rug

Provides 2' 6"–2' 11" (75–90 cm) of clearance around the table.
Enhances symmetry in round or square dining rooms.
Allows chairs to remain fully supported when pulled out.
Choose durable, easy-to-clean materials for everyday use.

Large rectangular dining table rug layout

6+ Seater Rectangular Table

Large rectangular rug

Best suited to 8–10 seater rectangular tables.
Allow at least 2' 11" (90 cm) of rug beyond each side of the table.
Ideal for formal dining rooms and open-plan spaces.
Flatweave and low-pile styles keep chairs moving smoothly.

Rug Details

The Vintage Sage Green Medallion Distressed Rug features a classic medallion design in a muted sage green palette. Its distressed finish gives the pattern a softly aged appearance, balancing traditional decorative detail with a relaxed, timeworn look. The medallion creates a clear focal point, while the subdued green tones keep the overall design calm and easy to coordinate. This vintage-inspired rug complements traditional, transitional, and cottage-style interiors where a decorative pattern adds character without overwhelming the room.

Rug Care Guide

🎨 Rug Designer's Note

When reimagining this medallion silhouette in sage green, my goal was to bring the quiet majesty of an English manor conservatory into the design. I wanted the botanical flourishes to feel alive yet softened by decades of sun-drenched history, using gentle olive, celadon, and warm parchment tones. Softening the linework with an intentional distressed overlay gives the impression of a cherished family heirloom discovered in a countryside villa. Whenever I look at this piece, I feel an instant wash of calm and organic freshness. I hope it turns your favorite space into a peaceful retreat filled with timeless beauty.
